Instructor Led Training (ILT)

The following is an updated list of RISO, Inc. Instructor Led Training courses. Technical Certification training is offered on current models/series of RISO products. Technical certification is required on products for which the dealer is authorized to sell in its assigned geographical area. To protect the reputation of the Products, RISO may withhold delivery of any model of RISO products if a dealer does not meet the service requirements set forth in more detail in the Dealer Agreement. RISO training is designed to ensure product reliability, customer satisfaction, and dealer profitability. As a standard requirement, technicians should be computer literate and have a mechanical and electronic aptitude with logical troubleshooting capabilities. They should also be experienced in reading electrical wiring diagrams, using voltmeters and associated test equipment. Virtual classes will be provided via the Zoom web conferencing platform, while in-person classes will be given at RISO Inc. in Woburn, MA.

F Series Virtual Baseline w/MH Course (Virtual class)

This instructor led virtual course incorporates a review of product theory and includes lab videos that emphasize product installation, disassembly and reassembly of main components and trouble shooting. This course focuses on single (SF) and dual (MH) cylinder duplicators that make up the Duplicator product line. Topics include installation, some assembly and disassembly, key operator functions, and trouble shooting. Successful completion of this course certifies the technician for SF, MF and MH series products.

GL Series Baseline Course (In-person class)

This course incorporates a review of product theory of the GL printer series and includes hands on lab exercises that emphasize product installation, disassembly and reassembly of main components and trouble shooting. Successful completion of this course certifies the technician on the GL, GD, and X1 Series product lines.

  • Pre-Requisite – GL Baseline Pre-Req course
  • 5-Day Course (8AM to 4:30PM EST)
  • Tuition: $300

GL Baseline Pre -Req Course (For GL Baseline students)

This self-paced online course is the pre-requisite for the GL Baseline Instructor led training and must be completed prior to attending the baseline class. This course prepares the student for the instructor led classroom portion by covering such topics as machine models, specifications, accessories, differences from the previous series and new features.

FT Series Baseline Course (In-person class)

This course incorporates hands on lab exercises and emphasizes product theory, installation, disassembly and reassembly of main components, adjustments and some troubleshooting. Successful completion of this course certifies the technician on the FT & FW Series product lines.

  • Pre-Requisite – FT Baseline Pre-Req Course
  • 5-Day Course (8AM to 4:30PM EST)
  • Tuition: $300

FT Baseline Pre-Req (For FT Baseline students)

This self-paced online course is the pre-requisite for the FT Baseline ILT and must be completed prior to attending the FT Baseline class. This course prepares the student for the classroom portion by covering such topics as machine models, specifications, accessories, differences from the previous series and new features.

Perfect Binder Series Baseline (In-person class)

This course will focus on the theory, installation, removal and assembly of the main components and adjustments of the Perfect Binder. Successful completion of this course will certify the Technician on the Perfect Binder. If a Technician has already completed and passed this course with X1 certification, it will automatically certify them for the GD Perfect Binder.

  • Pre-Requisite – X1 Baseline or GD Baseline certification
  • 3- Day Course (8AM to 4:30PM EST)

Envelope Wrapper Virtual Baseline (Virtual Class)

This instructor led virtual course will focus on the theory, installation, removal and assembly of the main components and adjustments of the Envelope Wrapper. Successful completion of this course will certify the Technician on the Envelope Wrapper. If a Technician has already completed and passed this course with X1 certification, it will automatically certify them for the GD Envelope Wrapper.

  • Pre-Requisite – X1 Baseline or GD Baseline certification
  • 2- Day Course (11am to 4:30PM EST)

RISO UNIVERSITY Online Training

As part of our overall course curriculum RISO University offers online technical training for product certification, non-certified product training and pre-requisite training for class room courses. Please see schedule below for Online Administration Fees. Product certification via online training requires the same standard of achievement as Instructor Led Training courses. To obtain product certification, students take an online test after completion of the course modules. Certification tests are electronically graded and results presented to the student immediately after completion. RISO online courses require a high speed internet connection, Macromedia flash player, Shockwave, Adobe Reader and WinZip installed on your computer. All the previously mentioned programs are available as free downloads on the internet. To enhance the training experience RISO always recommends having equipment available for the training to be taken. Prior to launching the course and to enhance the learning experience, RISO recommends reading the Theory of Operations in the appropriate Technical Manual. Access information to the training website will be provided via email once the course registration form has been received and approved by the RISO training team. All online students must have a valid email address, which includes their company’s email domain.

Online Course Description

GL Update Course

This course is intended for FW, GD, or FT certified technicians. The GL Update course builds upon previous inkjet training by explaining the functions, features, and modifications to the GL series

  • Pre-Requisite – FW, GD, or FT certification
  • Avg. time of completion – 1 hr

SF Online Update Course

This course is intended for EZ, SE or RZ certified technicians. The SF online update course builds upon previous duplicator training by explaining the differences between the RZ/EZ series and the new SF product line.

  • Pre-Requisite – EZ, SE or RZ certification
  • Avg. time of completion – 20 minutes

MH Update Online Course

This course is intended for MZ, ME or MF certified technicians trained prior to the MH product line release. This course will provide the technician with the differences between the MZ/ME/MF series and the MH product line.

  • Pre-requisite – ME or MZ certification
  • Average approximate time of completion – 45 Minutes

SE 9480 Update Online Training

This course is intended for SF, EZ or RZ certified technicians and provides them with the updated information for the SE product line.

  • Pre-requisite – SF, EZ or RZ certification
  • Average approximate time of completion – 25 minutes

GD Online Update Course

This course is intended for X1 or FW certified technicians. The GD online update course builds upon previous inkjet training by explaining the differences between the X1 series and the new GD product line. Descriptions of new features are included as well.

FT Update Online Course

This online course is specifically for GD or FW certified technicians. This course will focus on things that are different from GD series as well as updates from the FW series. Areas covered will include new functions & features, newly modified areas, Paper Feed, Registration area, BP, Elevation area, Face down Ejection, Switchback, Waste ink section & Firmware. This course certifies the student on FT & FW products.

High-Capacity Feeder

This Course is for technicians certified on the X1 Baseline, X1 Online Update Training, GD Baseline or GD Online Update. This course focuses on the proper techniques to connect the HCF to the GD or X1 printers as well as proper maintenance techniques and P.M schedules to maintain the product to factory standards.

  • Pre-requisite-GD or X1 certification
  • Average approximate time of completion – 2 hours

High-Capacity Stacker

This course is for technicians certified on the X1 Baseline, X1 Online Update, GD Baseline or GD Online Update. This course focuses on the proper techniques to connect the HCS to GD or X1 printers as well as proper maintenance techniques and P.M schedules to maintain the product to factory standards.

Online Training for IS/RS Model RIP’s

This online course is intended for service people who will provide technology support to their customers . The course shows how to download, install and configure the printer driver as well as focusing on the driver settings and navigating through RISO Console. This course also touches on creating and using custom queues.

  • Pre-requisite – Computer Operating System knowledge
  • Average approximate time of completion – 1 hr 45 minutes (including labs)

Valezus T2200 Accessories Online Training

This course is for technicians who obtained GD Baseline or GD online Update certification. This course focuses on the accessories of the Valezus T2200 configuration, which included the Double Tray Feeder, The Joint Unit and the Double Tray Stacker. This course provides information related to installation, Theory of operation and adjustments for the accessories mentioned, thereby giving the technician the tools for maintaining the equipment to factory standards.

  • Pre-requisite – GD Baseline or GD Online Update certification
  • Average approximate tine of completion – 2.5 hrs

Additional 2000 Sheet Feeder Online Training

This course is for FT certified technicians and focuses on the FT accessory the Additional 2000 Sheet Feeder. This course covers product layout, theory of operation, specifications, installation and removal.

Multifunction Finisher FG20 Online Training

This course is for FT certified technicians and focuses on the FT accessory Multi-function Finisher FG20. This course covers product layout & theory of operation, functions, specifications, installation and some component removal and assembly.
